Alison Merion was born in Ann Arbor MI, and at a young age realized her passion for photography. Throughout middle school and high school she experimented with photography. She is now in her 3 rd and final year at Brooks Institute of Photography.   She is a hard worker and puts every ounce of energy into getting the job done well.   She is easy to get along with and has the ability to make her subjects comfortable.   Her goal is to work with non-profit organizations photographing people in need.

"Each person has only one chance to try and change the world.   I feel that my time has come and my weapon of choice is photography.   I am not idealistic, thinking that anything big will come from my efforts.   I do hope to help a couple of people in my lifetime by making those who can help the unfortunate aware that they are able to help.   Photography is an amazing way to reach people on a more personal level.   I hope I will continue to make images that are telling and make people think about their current situation and how they can help others around them.   While I'm doing this I am going to work hard to understand the different cultures around me, so I can grow in my understanding of the world"
